How do I setup an email account in Outlook 2003

Before you can retrieve your e-mail from your new account, Outlook 2003 must be set up with the correct information. Follow the steps below to complete your setup.

Open Outlook, then click on the Tools Menu, and then select E-mail Accounts.
 

 

Click on Tools








Click on Email Accounts
 

 





Click Add a new email account and then click Next
 

 






Select POP3
 
Enter Your Name                                                   Enter User Name
(I.e. Brian Rideout-BANG! Web Site Design)         (username@domainname.ext)

Both Incoming Mail Server (POP3) and Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) should be the same.

(i.e. mail.domainname.ext)




Next click More Settings

Note: Do not test settings yet.
Enter E-mail Address                 Enter Password and then check Remember Password
(username@domainname.ext)
 
 


Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires
authentication


Next click Use same settings as my
incoming mail server 
 
 





Click to Test Account Settings




If you get errors instead, go back and review your settings.
